Please note that the appropriate sample type and amount as well as the transport media are variable according to the Mycoplasma species you intend to isolate thus please contact us in advance. In brief:
1) Take the swab or clinical material sample from the animal.
2) Put it as soon as possible, but not later than an hour into the broth (The sterile broth can be stored for up to 6 months at -20°C), and mix it very well.
3) Filter the broth: use the needle and syringe to suck out the broth from the tube, than attach the syringe to the filter and empty the syringe into a new tube. In the end empty the filter by pushing through air with the help of the syringe.
4) The filtered broths are stored at room temperature and protected from sunlight.
5) Please send the filtered broth to our laboratory at room temperature as soon as possible (within 10 days) after sampling.
